Building Cultural Resilience Post-Disaster Mobile Workshop
NACo mobile workshops provides county leaders with real on the ground experiences of how local communities are facing issues and challenges. In Davidson County, Tennessee NACo members learned about how the county recovered from flooding with preventative engineering, community re-investment and community engagement.
This mobile workshop focused on how arts and culture can be integrated into the post-disaster recovery process and the strategies cultural institutions have taken to rebuild post-disaster, in partnership with county government. It included stops at Two Rivers Park, Riverfront Park and the Nashville Symphony to hear about Davidson County’s recovery from the 2010 Nashville flood.
