The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) developed a new solution extending public assistance services beyond the traditional means of face-to-face interaction. In 2011, DPSS launched a browser-based self-service portal called Your Benefits Now! (YBN). This solution allows more than 4 million individuals of Los Angeles County already receiving public assistance, the ability to check information pertaining to their case 24/7 via the internet. In June 2016, DPSS enhanced YBN to allow participants to view and or generate Verification of Benefits (VOB) Notice (PA 1918) via the self-service portal. Prior to this enhancement, participants would either call the Customer Service Center to request their VOB notice to be mailed to them or they would walk into a district office and request their VOB in person. Participants can now view and/or generate their VOB in the following threshold languages: English, Spanish, Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Tagalog and Vietnamese.
