In 2006, Durham County Library partnered with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Writing Center to start Write On!—a writing workshop for teenagers. Write On! teaches young people to redefine their relationship with the written word by turning them into writers as well as readers. This commitment to teen literacy through writing has created a life-altering experience for over two dozen teens and twenty tutors at the Durham County Library that has lasted for more than three years.
