In June 2013, Oakland County Information Technology (OCIT) and Economic Development & Community Affairs (EDCA) implemented MicroSoft Sharepoint collaboration tools. The purpose of these tools was to reduce the knowledge gap between EDCA employees by allowing employees who are geographically dispersed to collaborate and share information more efficiently. With the creation of work flows, training videos and documentation, EDCA employees learned and leveraged the tools available within SharePoint to improve their day-to-day responsibilities.
