Under the leadership of County Executive Robert Ficano, two vital aspects of Wayne County’s mission are to, “lead Michigan in creating the environment for new business development, job creation, and investment opportunities,” and to provide, “the highest efficient, effective, and courteous service,” to constituents. Wayne County’s Vendor Management System (VMS) is an online tool that significantly advances both of these strategic objectives. VMS allows companies that want to do business with the County to self-register and complete certification applications electronically, then access their information 24/7. It has been a catalyst for the rise in out-of-state and out-of-county registrations and certifications. It has also led to an increase in the number of business and chamber requests to partner with Wayne County for community outreach.
