The Unlawful Detainer (UD) Web Portal for Interpreter Requests is a language access initiative available on the Los Angeles Superior Court (LASC) website. The Interpreter Request Portal enables parties and witnesses involved in unlawful detainer (eviction) cases to request interpreters in advance of hearings via the Court’s website. The online interpreter request form is also available in English, Simplified Chinese, Armenian, Korean, Vietnamese and Spanish. This web portal application was designed to request interpreters in other-than-Spanish languages. Spanish language interpreters are readily available at all courtrooms that hear eviction cases. Once a request for an interpreter is submitted electronically, the Language Access Services Department receives the request via email. The court interpreter coordinators then schedule interpreters as requested. Courtroom staff accesses an online interpreter request tracking document to confirm the date for which the interpreter was requested, and whether the status of the interpreter request is pending or confirmed.
