Transformation Works Ventura County – is a unique collaborative partnership between the Ventura County Sheriff's Office (VCSO), Oxnard Police Department, Santa Paula Police Department, Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, and community-based organizations who meet the needs of at-risk/high risk children, youth, and families in the county. The project implements a two-strategy approach focused on reducing gang involvement, gang violence, and gun violence in Ventura County. The first strategic approach focuses on reducing the impact of criminal street gangs in the Oxnard Plain area of Ventura County (an area with the highest number of identified gang members and the highest levels of gang activity in Ventura County by arresting, prosecuting, adjudicating, and incarcerating the most violent gang members. The second approach focuses on simultaneously decreasing the number of gang members (15 - 24 years of age) through alternative interventions.
