Year: 2017

The implementation of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) for the Traffic Signals and Signs (TSS) Division of the Department of Transportation and Public Works provides the capability to generate and track work orders on over 4,500 intersections, traffic signals and lighted signs due to outages, upgrades and construction projects throughout Miami-Dade County. The EAMS intranet application offers all areas of TSS with direct access to information on outstanding work orders and priorities reported to the Traffic Management Center via various means, such as, emails, direct phone calls, and calls made to the County’s 311 Call Center from constituents. The application integrates with the County’s GIS infrastructure for asset and intersection geographical locations visible on map layers from within EAMS. Utilizing the County’s Net-Motion infrastructure, TSS can access the intranet application “out in the field” from laptops equipped with air cards providing TSS engineers and technicians with real-time data and the ability to update and close out incident tickets immediately.
