When Atlanta metropolitan area residents talk to their local government representatives, traffic is a frequent topic of discussion. Gwinnet County has opened a new Traffic Control Center with 85 miles of fiber optic links to 400 traffic signals and 50 video cameras. Operators can respond to real-time traffic conditions and adjust the timing of traffic signals to help keep traffic flowing smoothly through their 437-square mile county.
