During the summer of 2010, WDD entered into an agreement with the county Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) to administer the Transitional Aid to Needy Families (TANF) Emergency Contingency Fund (ECF) Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The program served a total of 881 TANF eligible and low-income youth between the ages of 18 and 24 with paid work experience opportunities with both private employers and public agencies. Further, the overall program goals were to assist eligible youth while finding and retaining work, improving work skills, becoming self—sufficient, and contributing to the economic stability of San Bernardino County.
