In early 2010 one of our local hospitals, Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, was developing their local criteria to become an accredited Chest Pain Center. They reached out to us as participants as we transport cardiac patients to them routinely. The innovation proposed was to develop a system of EKG transmissions directly to the Emergency Room and Cath Lab simultaneously from the field that would give them early warning to activate the Cath Team for readiness prior to the patient arrival and streamline the chain of events that would repair the damage to the patient's heart.
