The Probation Training System (ProbTrain) modernization project encompassed a complete re-write of the legacy application. ProbTrain system is a web-based application designed to support the San Bernardino County Probation Department in managing employee training profiles, system security, class offerings and rosters, class/personnel history, tuition schedule, future assignment requests, calendaring and supervisor notification functionality and reporting needs. ProbTrain provides employees with the ability to self-enroll in classes that align with their professional growth plans and job classification requirements. The new system has automated the manual enrollment notification and calendar event scheduling processes. System access to the county’s intranet network is managed through the existing Windows Authentication process, eliminating the need for a standalone user account security module and associated maintenance. The new system has enabled the Probation Department to convert time consuming manual processes into automated and efficient business processes.
