About the Program

Category: Criminal Justice and Public Safety (Best in Category)

Year: 2011

The Remote Interpreter Program was implemented in 2010 to meet the Court’s growing demand for interpreter services. It allows the Court Interpretation and Translation Services Department to provide an interpreter to parties with limited or no English-speaking abilities to over 25 courtrooms throughout Maricopa County in all areas of the law from a remote location. The implementation of this program has increased the interpreters’ productivity and has provided a means to satisfy the demands of the public and the court, while improving the utilization of resources.
