ARIZONA@WORK-Maricopa County is a part of the Maricopa County Human Services Department, Workforce Development Division. Funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and as a member of the statewide workforce development network, Maricopa County helps employers of all sizes and types recruit, develop and retain the best employees for their needs. (WIOA is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.) For job seekers throughout the county, ARIZONA@WORK provides services and resources to pursue education and career opportunities. By developing our state’s workforce and matching employers with skilled job seekers, we strengthen Maricopa County’s and Arizona’s economy thus fulfilling the purpose of WIOA of strengthening and improving our nation’s public workforce system, helping jobseekers and workers obtain high-quality jobs and careers, and helping employers hire and retain skilled workers. The Workforce Development Division has partnered with the City of Phoenix, Tech Systems, Department of Economic Security, several local employers, and Training to You, to bring training and employment opportunities to the County’s workforce. ARIZONA@WORK supports the cohort model by providing participants with career pathways, financial support for certification training, support services and case management to ensure successful outcomes.
