The Position Readiness Education Program (PREP) was designed by the Chesterfield County Police Department and intended to provide elective training to police officers in a manner that guides them toward success in their careers. The training is tailored toward specific specialty assignments within the department, and utilizes instructor led, internet based, and practical training experience to prepare officers to be competitive in assignment processes. The instructor led training is offered during non-traditional work hours, to be conducive to the often difficult to manage public safety schedule.
