Year: 2020
Palm Tran launched Go Glades, a deviated flex route, with the objective of improving travel mobility in the Glades region and boosting the Glades economy. The program was paid for with an estimated $1.2 million grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and operated by MV Transportation on Palm Tranâs behalf. The Go Glades concept emerged after Palm Tran overhauled its system in September 2018. The Glades region saw two of its routes merge together, which resulted in extended hours and improved frequency. Go Glades made it easier for residents to access bus stops and reach off-route destinations. Since launching, Go Glades has succeeded in fulfilling a travel mobility need in the Glades region and boosting the Glades economy.
