To automate the time‐consuming and tedious processes of copying content, migrating data, and uploading documents to an expensive commercial open budget platform, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) developed an in‐house OPERATING OPEN BUDGET application for the Operating Budget and Public Services Program (PSP). This self‐publishing website leverages the in‐house developed BASIS budget management system to instantly display data, visualizations, and content in a clear and concise fashion. OPERATING OPEN BUDGET gives the public instant access to comprehensive information about the Operating Budget, and ultimately builds residents trust and confidence in Montgomery County Government through transparency and accountability.
