Year: 2017

The Vendor Technical Certification application automated the vendor application process for bids on Architecture and Engineering contracts, which provided Web functionality to the Miami-Dade County vendor community to apply online to be pre-qualified for those contracts. The vendor technical certification application process consisted of a paper-based model that required vendors to visit County offices to register, and County personnel to complete the manual work to operate the pre-qualification process. Miami-Dade County implemented an online technical certification process that provided registered vendors the ability to pre-qualify and manage the technical categories in which they do business, edit qualifiers, and submit requests for re-certification using the County’s Vendor Portal. Vendors who are not registered may also use the online functionality, for the County Portal allows them to complete the online registration process simultaneously. The Pre-Qualification Certification Home Page provides information about the pre-qualification and technical certification. Once the vendor selects and adds the desired categories, they will appear in the “Added Categories” list, and the required business license and qualifier license for each added category will be listed along the category. The automation was designed on a user-friendly approach, with easy to follow steps that enhance the vendors’ experience as they do business with Miami-Dade County.
