Suffolk County’s Online Food Manager’s Course with online registration for classroom courses are part of Suffolk County’s progressive Food Control Program, and are part of its multi-pronged approach to the prevention of food borne illness. Suffolk County believes in the crucial role an educated food worker plays in preventing food borne disease and requires food workers to complete a training certification every three years. The Online Food manager’s Course with online registration was launched in an effort to supplement existing classroom-based courses and phone-in registrations systems. The programs have increased accessibility to training, decreased the burden on food service establishments and increased productivity within Suffolk County’s Food Control program, all of which support the ultimate goal of preventing food borne illness.
