The Clerk’s Office created an electronic, web-based application form for concealed pistol license (CPL) applications. This allows customers to fill out their applications ahead of time and online, rather than by hand at the Clerk’s Office counter. This also allows applicants to submit applications at a time convenient to them. The online form guides applicants through the application process, forces users to submit required fields, and limits many of the responses to State-approved choices such as hair and eye colors. The responses are then stored and used to populate the State-approved application form. This process improves accuracy and saves time for the staff because they no longer have to read hand-written applications or manually input data.
