The OCIT Solutions Development Team, with applications such as myOCgov, is reshaping the face of government technology by utilizing a blend of cutting-edge solutions and collaborative efforts. The County of Orange provides quality services to its residents while remaining operationally efficient and transparent to the people utilizing its programs. With that goal in mind, myOCgov has been launched as a brand-new mobile application. The application will provide the Countyâs 3 million residents with a friction-free experience to find parks, libraries, health and human services, and a multitude of other government programs in their local area. Seeking to alleviate a lack of mobile responsiveness on County websites and increase program visibility, myOCgov was developed in order to rapidly offer solutions to both internal customers and to the public. In just 60 days, the application was written and executed with the assistance of the Countyâs Fifth Supervisorial District, the OCIT Solutions Development Team, and more than 60 beta testers. Additionally, the OCIT Solutions Development Team shaped this application on open source software commonly used by technology startups that can be reused by any municipality. This focus on collaboration will give myOCgov the ability to reach all members of the public, including other businesses, non-profits and governments, while employing low cost solutions that still deliver high value.
