The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), Division of Transportation Engineering (DTE) has created a new image for themselves through their multi-media strategies and website makeover by using live earth cameras with real time lapse videos, project storytelling clips, portable action cameras and live tweets. MCDOT-DTE provides the public with a better level of understanding of what they do for the community implementing multi modal transportation infrastructure projects and promoting their reputation in the region and nation as an innovative leader. Their goal was to reach out and build relationships by using new technology to keep the public informed and explain their organization’s role within MCDOT. Multiple media strategies were used to build a new level of trust and transparency between their organization and the community.
