The Miami-Dade Public Library’s Coworking Center provides enterprising customers with a place to telecommute, conduct business, and grow as entrepreneurs. It is a place to work, collaborate on projects, and network with other participants of the program. At its core, the Center offers space for individuals to work on their projects, telecommute, and conduct other business activities such as meetings, interviews, etc. The Center offers the shared use of its space to all program participants. The space is also available for reservation, on a limited basis, for private business meetings and interviews. The Coworking Center offers monthly events and workshops presented by business professionals on various topics such as: Startups, Business Marketing and Branding, Growing and Expanding a Business, Bidding and Securing Government Contracts, Incorporation, etc. Additionally, the Center also conducts periodic events to foster networking, build its user community, and foster collaboration in the community it serves. Coworking Center participants also have access to the technology and digital tools available at the Library’s YOUmake Miami Center located in the adjacent room. These resources include photographic, video and sound production equipment, 3D printers, etc., that may be used to create promotional videos, headshots, voiceovers, websites, graphics, and 3D prototypes development.
