Miami-Dade County has been using IBM Cognos software for Business Intelligence (BI) reporting since 1998. In 2008, the Enterprise Business Analytics Unit (EBA) of Miami-Dade County’s Information Technology Department (ITD) installed the Cognos Development (CognosDev) and Production Intranet (CognosIntra) Enterprise environments. Utilizing the Cognos software, the EBA Statistics Dashboard was developed using the auditing information to display reporting metrics for the two County BI enterprise environments. The dashboard has nine pages with over thirty charts. It also has the ability to expand a metric indicator for detailed information. The dashboard metrics are used for environmental troubleshooting, budgeting and management presentations and system infrastructure changes.
