Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) prioritizes establishing collaborative partnerships with other organizations within Montgomery County, MD. MCPL is uniquely positioned as a community resource in 21 locations around the County, and meets the educational and recreational needs of a very diverse County. In order to enhance our services to this diverse community, MCPL seeks out partners that can assist us with the development of programs, services and resources that would otherwise be difficult to offer. The partnerships with non-profit organizations, county departments and local community agencies provides MCPL with a wider pool of knowledge, skills and contacts while learning about and reaching out to different communities. These collaborations are the vehicles that help to strengthen the services and resources MCPL provides to its communities. MCPL enables its partners to use the physical space at local libraries as well as marketing these programs and services on our website, in our social media and within our branches. By combining efforts and sharing resources, expertise and information, the collaborative alliances with multiple partners benefit all parties involved, and reinforce the fact that Montgomery County Public Libraries’ branches are the central and vital locations in the community where the county reads, meets and learns.
