The Camden County Planning and Development Office, in partnership with the Coastal Regional Commission (CRC) and consultant Spatial Focus, coordinated the adoption of a Joint Addressing Ordinance and Manual. The implementation of this ordinance has given a unified voice for assigning and maintaining address data. This unified voice is achieved with collaboration from 3 local municipalities, the City of St. Marys, the City of Kingsland, and the City of Woodbine, as well as the Camden County Board of Commissioners, E-911, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office. The ordinance works collectively with 911 and the Sheriff’s Office by syncing with that office’s updated software system-New World, to provide faster and more accurate response times.
