Miami-Dade County Internal Services Department (ISD) Facilities and Infrastructure Management Division (FIMD) is responsible for providing a wide range of internal support services for the ongoing operation of County government to include the management of over six million square feet of County-owned and leased buildings. ISD has successfully implemented a cost neutral solution to efficiently save energy and achieve certain equipment upgrades within the facilities they manage. As part of an ongoing strategy of sustainability and energy reduction, ISD developed an Energy Conservation Program (Program) at five ISD managed facilities The goal of this program was to lower energy consumption and achieve savings by upgrading equipment and systems that have outlived their useful normal life. The implementation of this energy conservation program resulted in substantial energy and cost savings for the County and enabled ISD to more effectively plan for future energy usage.
