About the Program

Category: Health (Best in Category)

Year: 2018

Leon County’s “HeartMath: Resilience Advantage” program provides County employees with useful techniques and tools to manage stress and live a balanced lifestyle. Countless studies have been published showing the damaging effects that stress can have in the workplace; in response, Leon County partnered with HeartMath, a global nonprofit research and training institute, in 2014 to teach the HeartMath system to County employees. The HeartMath system empowers people to self-regulate their emotions and behaviors to reduce stress, increase resilience, and unlock their natural intuitive guidance for making more effective choices, enabling County employees to break through to greater levels of personal balance, creativity, insight and health. The program was implemented at a nominal cost for training and materials, and has been tremendously successful with over 100 County employees participating since its inception.
