The Girls Empowerment and Mentoring (G.E.M.) program provides girls ages 11-16 with opportunities to develop their creativity, cultivate cultural experiences, explore the worlds of the arts, discover their inner self, learn leadership values, and enlighten their dreams and aspirations thru the arts. The G.E.M. summer camp program provides girls with projects, workshops and mentoring opportunities to facility building self-esteem and to strengthen their connection to their community, while being expose to quality arts experiences. GEM is a ten-week summer camp offered at a facility dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the contributions of women to the community and to the arts. The curriculum is geared to incorporate arts instruction including traditional arts and fine arts. Depending on age, participants can choose from dance (folkloric, ballet, tap, hip hop, jazz and ballroom to name a few), theater, crafts, drawing, painting, and music along with incorporating the literary arts and history.
