Like most counties, Dunn County ND addresses increasingly complex service needs of their residents. Although, some common services are provided similar to other counties, Dunn County is diverse and unique. Located in the heart of the Bakken, Dunn County faces greater challenges relating to the oil field. Impacts to Dunn County range from increased vehicle traffic, erosion of our roads, increased crime, and a fluctuating population. To accommodate our residents and continue to move our county and community forward, we rely on our county leaders to provide exceptional services to our community members. Due to the changing needs of our stakeholders and continual improvement of our processes and technologies, our leadership must also change. That means continuing professional development to better prepare our leaders. That is exactly what we have been doing thanks, in part, to the NACo High Performance Leadership Academy. Dunn County has over 20 graduates and counting! These leaders are effectively and efficiently addressing the changing needs of our county, our employees, and our economy.
