Forms Distribution Program: A Library System's COVID-19 Response and Beyond

The Miami-Dade Public Library System, in partnership with CareerSource South Florida opened 26 neighborhood Libraries to become distribution and collection centers for the paper-based version of the State of Florida’s Reemployment Form. Library staff at the 26 locations delivered?over 100,000 completed?forms to neighborhood CareerSource Centers to assure that the state received them?within a 24-hour period. The success of this distribution and collection program?not only?opened the doors to other form distribution programs and social services?aimed at helping the community during the COVID-19?pandemic, but also opened the?door to other community partnerships?and?highlighted the?Library’s ability to change course and adapt its services to the needs of the community.??
