The Maricopa County Department of Transportation determined it needed a new process to protect employees and customers from COVID-19 transmission when checking in for office visits and meetings. During the scoping of this program, it was recognized that opportunities to also improve efficiency were present. Through a process mapping evaluation, a new process was established that identified that additional software support was needed to complete the program upgrade. After completing the evaluation and onboarding the new process and software, MCDOT realized a 69 percent decrease in program costs and provided additional protections to employees and customers alike.
