Miami-Dade County (County) Internal Services Department (ISD) regulates private and public elevators, escalators and moving walkways throughout most of Miami-Dade County. The Facilities and Infrastructure Management Division (FIMD) oversees elevator maintenance contracts across all County departments through the Contracts Management Unit (CMU). In July 2019, the County implemented an Electronic Maintenance Control Program (eMCP) to accurately and efficiently track the maintenance and repair tasks performed by contractors across County departments. eMCP is an application that can be downloaded on any smartphone or tablet. Technicians have access to their assigned elevator units on the application and can log in completed maintenance and repair tasks in real time. This program improved the Countyâs administration and management of elevator maintenance contracts and provided increased transparency and accountability, which ensures the safety and performance of elevators throughout Miami-Dade County and its public facilities.
