Criminals sentenced to prison can now be transported to prison much sooner, freeing up room at the county jail, thanks to the Macomb County clerk’s electronic disposition system. Using existing technology, the court and clerk created a system that would allow paperwork to be electronically routed through proper channels, reducing the processing time by weeks. Through e-mails and automatic notifications programmed in the court management software used by the offices, the process is partially automated, a lot quicker and more efficient.
