Economic Development Webinar Series. When the pandemic hit, the Economic Development Authority (EDA) immediately contacted nearly 2,000 county businesses. With 25,000 businesses in Henrico, we needed to multiply our efforts, and the webinar series was born. We looked for a way to showcase our county to potential businesses since all travel and face-to-face meetings were canceled.• A message from the EDA Executive Director to businesses at the beginning of COVID-19.• Restaurant re-opening webinar including Henrico Divisions of Fire, Police, Permit Center, Health Department, and Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. The purpose was to define rules and regulations of COVID-19 requirements. We provided information for permit fees for outdoor tents to be paid by the EDA. This was important to restaurants to open for business and provide the required social distancing between customer tables. During this webinar, attendees were able to ask questions related to their businesses.• Henrico Fire and the EDA worked to help with a smooth re-opening to restaurants by ensuring all safety measures for outdoor tents and heaters during cold weather were followed.• Due to travel restrictions, the EDA wanted to find a way to promote our county. We held two webinars promoting available sites to site selectors and business leaders.
