eCACTIS is an electronic document management software program, designed and implemented by the Maricopa County Justice Courts, which captures, stores, and maintains court case files in electronic format, thus eliminating the need for paper files. Because eCACTIS eliminates the traditional time spent searching for paper documents, courts experience greater case processing efficiencies and the ability to significantly improve customer service. The program also helps manage and track document timelines based upon case processing business rules, and satisfies user demand for “anytime, anywhere” secure court document retrieval. eCACTIS routes documents to specific court personnel based upon established court procedures and guidelines, and interacts with the justice court’s integrated case management system (iCIS) to ensure electronic documents are easily viewable and retrievable from any networked computer. eCACTIS is designed to streamline justice court processes significantly and to provide unprecedented access to court case documents, which benefits the public, court staff, judges, Maricopa County and the State.
