Year: 2011

The Drug Court program is a collaborative effort involving the Nevada County Courts, Probation Department, District Attorney’s office, Public Defender’s office, Country Counsel’s Office, Human Services agency/Behavioral Health Services, Community Service Providers and Nevada County Systems of Care Project. The services offered consist of a combination of close supervision by the justice system, treatment of substance abuse, and assistance with life skills. The program includes ongoing monitoring and continuing care for program participants for one to three years. The collaboration workflow application was initiated by a request from Probation staff to assist in boosting program efficiency and increase in time spent providing services to the clients. The automated workflow is currently saving up to two to three weeks per claim request. The staff time saving has been extremely beneficial to the Probation department, the Courts, and the service providers and has ultimately equated to a decrease in time required to complete paperwork and an increase in time available to assist clients.
