Domi Station is a technology-oriented business incubator program generated by a public-private partnership between Leon County, Florida and Domi Ventures, Inc. Through this partnership, Leon County and Domi have successfully leveraged their collective resources to provide entrepreneurial support to the startup business community with no operational cost to taxpayers. To facilitate this partnership, Leon County provided the physical space for the incubator, which Domi leases to provide business development services; access to funding; and connections to a network of mentors, investors, and collaborators in support of early-stage technology companies. Since the opening of Domi Station in May 2014, this partnership has immediately enhanced the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our community and filled gaps in the County’s economic development framework. Through Domi Station, Leon County is able to grow its local economy by cultivating the untapped talent and research potential being developed at Florida State University (FSU) and Florida A&M University (FAMU). In its first year, Domi Station has already become home to dozens of new companies, created high-quality jobs that will help the community retain the talent developed at FSU and FAMU, and attracted significant investment from outside of the community.
