The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers a wide range of services to the residents it serves. With service delivery programs covering a spectrum of needs from prenatal care to death certificates and support through the full range of health, financial and support services, the Department’s 1500+ employees provide services at more than 20 direct service locations and 200 schools to about 80,000 residents each year. A well designed web site is crucial to communicating information both to prospective clients and to the general public. Unfortunately, the Department’s existing website was poorly designed and hard to navigate, making it frustrating for residents seeking information on issues ranging from program eligibility to the guidance on influenza. The DHHS Website Redesign addresses both functionality and usefulness for residents and others looking for information about programs and services and is designed in a way that will enable staff to more easily keep key information current and refreshed.
