The County’s Public Health Services Division of the Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) has adopted an approach to performance management that captures the collective impact of a major countywide vision called Live Well San Diego. Local governments, schools, businesses, communities and faith-based organizations are working together to create a healthy, safe and thriving county. To capture the results of such an ambitious endeavor, a novel approach to performance management was adopted. That approach uses an application called InsightVision (a product of Insightformation based in Minneapolis) that involves multiple scorecards designed for the various branches of Public Health Services and HHSA regions. They capture not only what different units of county government are doing but also what community partners are doing to meet the Live Well San Diego goals. Their combined efforts are geared toward meeting the top 10 Live Well San Diego indicators that represent the healthy, safe and thriving community San Diego County aspires to create.
