The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Criminal Justice Institute (CJI) is an innovative program that provides local, accessible, effective, state-of-the-art training at little or no cost to law enforcement personnel, attorneys, educators, social workers, victim advocates, and other criminal-justice related professionals throughout Los Angeles County. CJI saves county agencies and municipalities tens of thousands of dollars in travel costs, lost work hours, and course fees annually, while simultaneously allowing personnel to regularly upgrade their skills, better fight crime and better contribute to successful prosecutions. Through CJI, the external training efforts of the District Attorney’s Office have been centralized to maximize efficiency. CJI hosts larger training sessions open to all law enforcement agencies, rather than requiring Deputy district Attorneys to speak to several smaller gathering sponsored by individual agencies.
