CountyGIS is an internal web-based application that is configured to meet the needs of the general county employee interested in identifying county property and related services. Six individually configured pages are available to serve the specific needs of various user departments. The special page configurations include opening to a view with the department’s most used data layers visible on the initial view. The CountyGIS application integrates a number of existing county applications: the geographic information system (GIS), the real estate appraisal system, the document management system and the storm water information tracking system, to provide seamless access to each system by the users. A total of 122 layers of geographic information can be turned on or off within the six different page configurations and a variety of search methods exist for the pages, some general searches, some specific searches. The search, measure and identify tools work across all pages so that parcel, subdivision, political and school information is accessible from each of the pages, as is access to the document management system. Specific searches are available on the individual pages to search for department-specific data. Additionally, three years of aerial photography are available for historic information purposes.
