Each of these initiatives include a public-private partnership utilizing a collective impact approach with our community partners. 1. Getting to Zero Initiative: Adopted by Board of Supervisors on March 1, 2016, âTest, Treat, and Preventâ is the three-part strategy for this initiative. The goal is to eliminate all new HIV infections in San Diego County within 10 years.2. The Hepatitis C Elimination Initiative: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors on November 19, 2018, the goal of this initiative is to achieve 80% decrease in new cases and 65% reduction in mortality by 2030.3. The TB Elimination Initiative: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors on July 23, 2019, the goal is to decrease the incidence of active TB cases to 1 case per 1 million. Currently there are 6.8 cases per 100,000 population in San Diego, which is higher than the California state rate of 5.3, and more than twice the national rate of 2.8
