About the Program

Category: Personnel Management, Employment and Training (Best in Category)

Year: 2016

In order to fulfill the conditions of Montgomery County Maryland’s new law requiring the Board of Directors of common ownership community associations to undergo training in the laws governing associations, Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) approached the County’s Department of Technology Services, Office of Cable and Broadband Services, Media Services Unit about creating an online training module. Using Articulate Storyline 2’s e-learning software, the Media Services team adapted the paper version of the training into a dynamic interactive experience, with guided navigation through six sections of content, incorporating images, audio, animated transitions, links to video and external resources, and a quiz at the end of each section, which the trainee must complete in order to progress to the next stage of training. Upon completion of the training, the trainee receives a personalized certificate, with a copy automatically emailed to them. They are also entered into a searchable database, so that their completion of the training can be verified as necessary.
