Safe, decent, affordable housing is something every family wants, needs, and deserves—that is why the Coalition for Housing and Support Program was started. The Coalition’s tools are simple: education, collaboration, and advocacy. Skillfully applied, those tools have created big results. The Coalition is wide and deep with twenty-nine entities each playing their own vital role. Their goals are: to understand the Lake County housing and services situation within the social and economic conditions present, and to identify solutions that promote stability and healthy independence; to educate the community on housing issues of Lake County, and how they are being addressed; to support collaborative efforts between agencies and organizations that improve effectiveness and efficiency in housing and supportive services; and to advocate elected and appointed officials for action supporting housing access, affordability, and supply.
