Abstract of the Program The Club at Sonoma County Juvenile Hall is a fully functional Boys & Girls Club chapter operating both inside and outside the walls of the Juvenile Hall facility. It was created through an extraordinary collaboration between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County and the Sonoma County Probation Department. This unique program is accessible to all youth housed at the facility, and includes an array of Evidence-Based, educational and recreational programs designed to assist at-risk youth to become caring, productive and responsible citizens in the future. The Club is located in a vacant residential housing unit that has been converted to a clubhouse with full Club amenities. Since its inception in Nov. 2011, the program has directly served well over 446 detained youth, and has graduated over 262 youth from certificate programs. Amazingly, this program is a zero net cost to the County, and is funded entirely by grant dollars and citizen donations. In the last few months, the Targeted Re-Entry Program was launched, which is designed to case-manage youth that are being released from the facility. The focus of this program, also managed and staffed by Club personnel, is to build on the relationships formed in The Club to assist at-risk youth with their reintegration back into the community.
