Maricopa County Department of Transportation saved taxpayers $68,992.76 in the last four years by creating an in-house, online, storefront and inventory control system to manage the purchasing of office supplies. The savings we can quantify are the cost savings in office supplies by consolidating and simplifying the ordering process. But the County has also saved exponential resources in ‘people costs.’ There is a time cost for each item processed and invoiced paid. Those savings in efficiencies have also contributed to the success of the Central Store.
