The Center for Government Excellence (CGE), a division of the County of Riverside Human Resources Department, is responsible for providing county-wide legally mandated and Board required training as well as organizational development services and innovative development programs for County executive leadership, management, and supervisors. The purpose of the CGE is to be a county-wide resource for performance solutions that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and excellence of Riverside County government. To that end, CGE employs methods of strategy development and execution, forecasts needs, re-examines core business in light of environmental and technical changes, leverages resources, measures outcomes and practices effective communication, and ensures accountability and team work. As a result, even in the face of 38% budget cuts over the last five years, CGE has become an example of quality, cost-effective government, producing measurable performance improvements, cost efficiencies, and rave reviews about the quality of services provided to departments, executives, and employees across the organization.
