A website portal was created to lessen the burden of administering the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for jurisdictions across the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Region 8. Douglas County staff has collaborated with CDBG entitlement communities across Region 8 to provide access to a collection of program resources through this website portal. These resources will allow CDBG program managers to review and utilize best practice models that have been successfully implemented throughout the region. Douglas County also supports a region wide CDBG Users Group, which allows members to collaborate, learn from each other, and collectively address program issues and concerns. Members of the Users Group worked together to establish administrative program template documents that were also made available on the website portal. The development and availability of these templates to new and existing CDBG entitlement communities, increases program efficiency while promoting consistency in the administration of CDBG funds across Region 8.
