The Body Worn Camera (BWC) module enables the officers to categorized videos, enter metadata and merge video data records with the time entry information from the Daily Activity Report (DAR) Application. This module is an integrated component of the officer’s DAR application. This process eliminates having to connect the body worn camera device to the mobile laptop and/or use the vendor’s software to enter metadata and categorize video. The metadata includes the information which relates the video to an incident (i.e. police case number, incident number, location etc.). The time entries in the DAR are automatically flagged as having video based on the incident signal assigned by the Computer Aid Dispatch (CAD) system. The officer has the ability to unmark the time entry if there is no video recorded with the incident. The officer will be required to enter a reason type and comment if no video is available for a routine call signal. An interface into the vendor’s video database retrieves information regarding the officer’s camera device, camera assignment and uncategorized video records. The uncategorized videos data records are merged with time entry records based on the officer’s badge number and the video’s recorded starting and ending date and time. The BWC reconciliation process requires the records to be verified before updating the video database with the category and metadata.
